Spring 2012 Season

SPRING 2012 SEASON UPDATES!

We are happy to announce our roster this season includes Countryside, Belmont Station, Lucketts, Potowmack, Wakefield Forest, Steuart Wellar, Fox Mill and Terraset Elementary Schools!

THANK YOU to all our fabulous coaches who have been working hard at practices to get the runners ready for the end of season 5K run! 

We are VERY PROUD of the progress the kids have made this season!  WAY TO GO RUNNERS!  Practices will continue through May 17th!

The end of season 5K fun run will be held on Sunday, May 20th in Ashburn at the Village Center at Belmont Greene. (Portsmouth Blvd. and Winkle Drive) 

Line up for the 5K will begin at 7:30AM.  We will end the run in the shopping center parking lot where the runners will receive their medals.  Refreshments will also be available for our runners and their buddy runners.

Reminder:  We will be running on the streets this season.  All children must have a buddy runner on the day of the 5K.  This should be someone who will stay with them during the entire run and will be responsible for them along the 5K course.

Welcome

Running with the Stars is an after school program consisting of girls and boys in first through sixth grade in the Northern Virgina area. Participants train after school two times a week with a coach, typically a parent or teacher, to prepare for a 5K run/jog. This is a non-competitive activity where we encourage the kids to strive for their own personal best. Our goal is to promote overall health and an interest in exercise. Ultimately, the kids will have a great time being active with their friends and build confidence along the way.
